"Meet the Parents - Little Fockers"

Went back to school for meeting in the morning and had lunch with my CL colleagues as Waiyin gave us a treat at Serangoon Gardens Chicken rice restaurant. Took a bus and train down to Plaza Singapura to buy tickets to the movie. Went to check out the UFO toy catcher and spent about $20 to catch a Rilakkuma nodding head solar-powered toy. They didn't have stock so I have to return another day to collect it. Went to the photoshop too to see if my manual camera's film can be developed but as I've opened the camera before, the film might be exposed so just paid for a processing fee to see if the film can be developed first. Went to tcc to enjoy the afternoon by reading my book and iced summer waltz drink while waiting for Teddy Chua to arrive. Went to Thai Express for dinner and went back to the UFO toy catcher...saw that they added a new Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma toy in the same machine so decided to try. But no good luck anymore and wasted close to $50...=(

Kiseki lunch

Went to Heeren to have a farewell lunch for my colleague, Dan dan who is transferring to another school. We went to Kiseki Japanese buffet restaurant at the basement. We paid $23 each and there were not alot of choices. Managed to eat from about 12pm to 2:30pm. Didn't stuff myself though cos there weren't alot of food I wanted to eat. The sashimi was quite ok. The hot pot was nice. Went to Far East with Celeste, Waiyin & Karn Nee to alter the neu look pants I got last week. Managed to find a miniature version Chloe perfume so I got it cos I like the bottle. =)

Busy weekend

Saturday - Christmas gift exchange gift shopping at Orchard

Had lunch at Sun with Moon with Teddy Chua. Been sometime since we last went there. They had a special Christmas dessert which was very nicely decorated and tasted good too. For one of my dishes, there was a fine strand of hair on the veggie so I told the waiter about it. She informed the manager and he came to apologise. He offered us a free tofu cheesecake as compensation and also another additional 10% discount besides my card. We walked down Orchard Road to enjoy the Christmas decor and floats as they blocked the whole Orchard Road. We went to *scape to take a look at the flea market. There were very few stalls and it soon poured when we were about to leave the building. We decided to go to Cineleisure, ION and then head to Plaza Singapura. I went to check out the toy catcher machines in Cineleisure. Tried to get Rilakkuma small soft toy from the UFO machine. Managed to get 3 dolls after spending abit. Can't remember how many $1 coins I've used. When we went to Plaza Singapura, I had to check out the toy catchers again. Decided to try to get Korilakkuma cushion as it's at the big machines and it's $1 per try. After trying 5 times, I got it! So lucky! So happy!
Teddy Chua arranged to meet up with his uni friend who's coming from Australia. He's a Malaysian working in Sydney. We had a very late dinner at Serangoon Gardens at the Chicken Rice Restaurant. We also went for dessert so I had hot ginger dumplings.

Sunday - Qian Hu Fish Farm & gathering

Brought Teddy's friend to Qian Hu Fish Farm after lunch at Jurong Point's Ding Tai Fung Restaurant. He likes to keep fishes as pets so brought him there to take a look. Saw quite a number of sting rays and they are very expensive! 1 pair for $5000! Almost comparable to arowanas! After visiting the fish farm, we dropped his friend off at Sembawang before going back to get Teddy's gift for the gathering. We also went to Werner's Oven to get the Xmas fruit cake. Teddy got me a donut that is pretzel shaped. It looks good! Reached Eu's house by 6pm. Had KFC and Canadian Pizza for dinner. Played Monopoly Deal where Teddy was teaching those who were new to it. Tried Wii, Rabbitz games and it was quite fun and created quite alot of laughter. During the gift exchange, I got Yifen's gift which was a towel and post it notes. Teddy got a red remote control car. Went back around 1030pm...quite tired...

Christmas Eve BBQ

Was invited by J's mum to go to their house for BBQ with my parents. We were the first to arrive as we had to collect the 50 sticks of otah we ordered from Lee Wee before 6pm. J was busy starting the fire and he had charcoal ash all over his arms and even tummy!
The cooking started around 7pm and there were alot of food. J passed me my Xmas gift and he got me to open it. It was the collector's set from Singpost. Sanrio's 50th Anniversary laptop bag and stamp set. I like the laptop bag alot but didn't get it the first time I knew it was available cos I remembered that the price was very expensive. The whole set is so pricey! $95 and yet he got it for me...feel so bad abt it...but luckily all 3 of his gifts: palachan black seal mouse, 1 sticker pad with his name and perfume amount to somewhere close. Went home around 9:30pm after eating quite alot. =)

Jalan Sultan Prawn Noodles

Went out for lunch with my parents at Kallang area for prawn noodles! Haven't had that for some time as I can't eat prawns outside as I wish, if their prawns are not fresh, my finger infection will start and I will be at the mercy of the itchiness...so far this is the only place where I have a whole bowl of prawn noodles without having any skin allergy...

Headed to Ang Mo Kio after that as Mum needed to buy something. Decided to queue for KOI drink as I wanted to try their grass jelly. I was quite lucky as there's only 1 other person in front of me. After I've ordered, a queue started form behind me. The grass jelly with pearl milk tea is really very nice. Too bad most of the time need to queue for a long time for KOI. Reached home by 1+pm and I had to start sketching the design I dreamt of cos what Teddy Chua designed was quite different from what I had in mind...

Christmas Gift Exchange

Went to Wendy's house to see Eileen's baby boy, Jayden. Gave him a pair of walking shoes which he can use when he is older. Wendy brought me to "peace of mind" near Clarke Quay to enjoy a Balinese massage. She treated me to it and after 1+hr, we walked over to Central.
We had lunch at Watami Japanese restaurant after going to her Art Gallery for awhile. Had a drink at tcc and chatted before heading back to her shop. I left Central close to 6pm to meet Teddy Chua and his Uni friends at 313 Somerset.
Managed to get a pair of working pants from neu look at $29.90. Need to alter the length of the pants myself though. We were deciding where to eat when we walked over to the directory. I closed my eyes and randomly pointed to a restaurant. Ended up at Hot Tomatoes. I tried their Lobster pasta which was quite ok though the serving was small. Rosie, Roy, Azlina, Teddy Chua and me walked over to Centrepoint tcc for the gift exchange. On our way, people were getting donations and Teddy donated $5 to get a mini Santa hat clip.
After 3 rounds of selecting, we managed to get the gift exchange done. I was to receive Roy's gift, Az got mine, Teddy Chua got Az's, Rosie got Teddy Chua's while Roy got Rosie's. I got a snowman cushion. We played the HK Monopoly Deal for quite some time before we headed home.
I saw this quote on 1 of the boards in Central today:
Life is not about the amount of breaths you take. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Bugis chilling

Met up with Yifen at Bugis to have lunch and walk around. We went to Kinokuniya and I bought these 3 books. The wordings are quite minimal but the conversations between Rilakkuma and his friends are quite cute. We walked around for awhile then headed to tcc to grab a bite and drink before heading home around 5+pm.

"Rapunzel"

Met up with my colleagues, Winston, Carmen, Jean Tan, Celeste Loh & Ruixian to go to Sentosa. Jean brought 2 other girls along too. Most of them wanted to do sun-tanning so I just stayed in the sheltered area of the restaurant near Rasa Sentosa. Tried the wood-fired pizza which was quite good but the chicken wings were crap. We left Sentosa around 4+pm and headed to Marche in Vivocity for dinner.
Met J for movie "Rapunzel" after accompanying him for dinner. Treated him to Max Brenner Chocolate cos of the year-end bonus. We finally got out couple rings...it was from a shop called Sparkles...wondering if the shop assistant charged us wrongly cos both rings only costs $23 together...The movie was very nice. Will try to get the vcd when it's out. =)

Mango & Blue Diamond

Met my NIE pals for lunch at Marche...had a good chat till 4+pm where we made our way to Shaw Towers Mango for the sale preview. Bought a dark blue cardigan. Went to Little India to meet Rosie and Jason to meet Azlina and Roy at Blue Diamond. It's Roy's bday so we wanted to surprise him. After a very nice dinner, we headed for tcc to cut the cake and have some drinks. Tried the card game cranium...quite fun...can't wait for the gakken camera's photos to be developed...hope it really works...

Pala-chan

Bought the black mouse as the first part to Teddy Chua's Xmas pressie...got the memory pack which consists of a 4 GB pala-chan USB thumbdrive and a papu-chan microSD card reader...they even have youtube videos! The official website: http://www.pala-chan.com

KOI pearl milk tea

J's bro's gf bought KOI pearl milk tea for us to try since they learnt that we have never tried the drink before. The pearls are really nicer to eat...no wonder people are willing to queue for the drinks and even fall sick while waiting in the rain...Maybe in future, the queue won't be so long, then I will go and buy their drinks...

Gakken Twin Lens Reflex Camera

This was our weekend project...got this emook with the camera on Wednesday. Really like the classic black design and though the instructions were all in Japanese, we managed to complete fixing it. Teddy Chua made 3/4 of the whole camera though...Took a few photos with the fujifilm I got today...hope that when I develop the photos, they will turn out ok, cos cannot review like the digicam.

"Unforgettable" by Andy Lau

J came over for lunch as Dad was cooking Hokkien Prawn mee...very tasty...we went over to Serangoon Nex to walk around...managed to find Andy Lau's new album "Unforgettable" at Laserflair for $24.90. Some of the shops are not open yet but there was a huge crowd and J noted there were alot of elderly people. We tried Drink Tea and the store is a Taiwanese tea store. Saw my cousin at Metallurgy there. When we were about to leave the carpark, a false fire alarm went off, causing the shutters in the carpark to automatically activate. We were trapped in the carpark for at least half an hour...luckily they forfeited the carpark charges...quite an annoying experience. Don't think I will want to go to Nex anytime soon...nothing much actually...just another shopping mall where the food court was reported to be extra expensive. In the evening, went to Yio Chu Kang for dinner with J's family and extended family to celebrate his paternal grandma's birthday. Had a very full dinner till 10+pm.

Monopoly Deal

After our HK trip, we now have 3 sets of Monopoly Deal...why? Because our first set was bought in Singapore, accompanying us for countless after dinner entertainment. The second set was bought at The Peak, got it at HK$49, slightly more expensive after venturing to Ladies Street and Temple Street but I console myself that the cards are of better quality. The last set was from Ladies Street, Transformers series...quite interesting. Will get to play the Transformers set this weekend, tried the Hong Kong set on Tuesday evening already.

Lunch at Swensens

Met up with Jiahui and her baby Melody at Compasspoint for lunch at Swensens today. It's been a year since the last time we met in AMK Hub. So fast, her baby is already 2 mths old. Super cute! She has very big eyes and lotsa hair. Got her a girly top and pants as Xmas present. Carried her and took her photos. It was nice catching up over lunch.
Ordered the grill fish with sambal and yoghurt but the yoghurt had a plastic piece in it. The manager wanted to serve another cup, but I didn't want to eat anymore. The yoghurt was quite a big cup. Just wonder, if it was a child who ate the yoghurt, wouldn't it be dangerous to swallow something like that? The manager explained that it was the container for the yoghurt which the server cut and accidentally added to my cup. I didn't ask for more ingredients...haiz...

Wedding Day of Korilakkuma & Rilakkuma

We got the exact same pair in Hong Kong! J said will use it for our wedding day...haha...the video is so cute!

Tuesday, December 07, 2010

"Skyline"

Met up with J for "Skyline" at Plaza Singapura at 4+pm since he will only go back to work tomorrow. The movie will definitely have a sequel. Typical sci-fi type but not too bad. Went to try the game machine and got a beige rilakkuma and the cleaning squirrel. Will upload their photos soon. Tried the new Japanese restaurant in PS, I had the miso butter champon. Alot of veggies with the noodles. Quite different from the usual ramen.
Tried to find the new Andy Lau CD, "Unforgettable" but it's sold out from gramophone. Will look around some more when I see CD stores. We played the Hong Kong Monopoly Deal at coffee club and the card quality is much better than our original set but the colour of the cards is much lighter.

Back from HK

After spending a fulfilling holiday of 5 days in Hong Kong with J, really didn't feel like coming back even though I can still enjoy the break...really feel good shopping and going for all the sight-seeing with him.

See above for the highlight photos of the trip. =)

Busy weekend

Fri: Despite my red right eye, met up with Teddy Chua and his uni friends at Cityhall to have dinner at Sakura. Went for my facial at Hitachi Towers before that as I felt that my skin was quite dry. Bumped into Siti frm Little Miracles at the restaurant and she is pregnant with her 3rd baby! Went for drinks at Funan coffee club after dinner. Had to walk to Clarke Quay to get a cab home cos it was a Friday night and lots of cabs were occupied.

Sat: Went to Yifen's house to pass her the wedding gift I got for her colleague cos I couldn't attend the wedding celebration. Headed to Chinatown to pay the remaining amount for our HK trip with Teddy Chua. Went to MBS to meet my 18 Degree Project teachers for the gathering. The hotel room was very nicely done and the view from the Skypark was very breath-taking. There were alot of tourists at the swimming pool and the design for the pool was very nice, there seems to be no edge to create a connecting feel with the skyline. Had a buffet dinner at riSe the restaurant at the hotel lobby before calling it a day.

Sun: Went to Bukit Panjang area with Teddy Chua to attend his JC friend's baby girl's 1st month celebration. We got her a baby storybook and a romper that says "Will work for milk". Luckily we chose the 12-18 mth cos the baby girl was growing up quite fast. Carried the baby and took a photo with Teddy Chua, and he said that pple might mistaken that we are the proud parents if they just look at the photo alone. Haha...had dinner at Teddy Chua's house and his parents bought 老天禄鸭舌头 and I ate 7! Hehe...his mum also gave me alot of the instant bowl noodles I like...can bring 1 to have for lunch in school tmr! =D

BBQ

After at least 1 year, it's BBQ time again on Saturday...this time round, it's at Teddy Chua's place as he invited his colleagues to his house for the gathering. We went to Parkway Parade with one of his colleagues to get some more BBQ food stuff on Friday as he insisted on a particular type of bacon so we didn't want to mess things up.
There were abt 20 pple for the gathering and the ordered BBQ food came around 5pm. It started to drizzle when it was 6+pm and the colleagues started arriving. Luckily the porch is covered, so the BBQ could carry on.
Ate otahs, mini taiwanese sausages, cheesy chicken franks, sting ray, chicken wing, sotong, tiger prawns, portobello mushroom with cheese, 1 side of a almost burnt sweet corn and a piece of choc cake. They wanted to celebrate 2 colleagues birthdays in November so had the cake. I like the otah though it was quite spicy. A pity the corn was burnt...the prawns were nice too...
After dinner, his friend taught us how to play this number game called Rummikub. It was my first time playing but I won 3 games in a row. Think the game is luck and making you think about combinations...some commented a little similar to Mahjong...haha. The group playing the real mahjong game took quite a long time and everyone left only around 2am...long night but it was fun.

Just bought this book and DVD from Kinokuniya. The cover is so cute! Think every single book of hers I have a copy...haha...from the DVD, I found out that the books were translated into Thai language...quite impressive...

I like this song! So sweet! Didn't know Fish Leong sang this song...

I have the last Lock 將. Wanted to get Open 將 but think it's very hard. Had to get Dad's Taiwanese friend, Yuanwan Auntie to help get the points and exchange at 7-eleven. There's another gold version of Open 將 but think it's very rare.

M & M

After PSLE marking ended, went to my colleague's house at Yishun and they taught me how to play Mahjong...as another colleague was also learning so we didn't play with money. Quite an interesting game. Out of 5 games, I managed to win 1.

Took the train down to Jurong Point to meet teddy chua to go to Marina Bay Sands. Most of the shops were selling branded goods. The selection of food at the small food court was also quite limited. I went to La Senza to spend my birthday voucher of 50% off regular items. The view from outside MBS that overlooks the CBD area is quite nice. The interior lighting of the MBS hotel also creates a rather romantic feel. The parking fee of MBS is however, very scary...we spent about 2 hours there and it's $12!

《Detective Dee and The Mystery of the Phantom Flame》

Went to catch this movie with J at Vivocity last evening. Had to wolf down our dinner at Carl's Jr as we were left with about 5min before the movie started. The movie was much better than the Cyborg movie that Andy Lau acted in previously. Will give it a 3 star out of 5.

Samsung Galaxy S

Teddy went to get this handphone for me as another birthday present. He already got me the agnes.b wallet from Japan, the Chloe perfume and yet he go and buy this...spent so much for my birthday till next year also don't know what to get for him...=S

Nice weekend

1 Oct Fri: Went for my last piano lesson at PS and met J at Somerset 313 for dinner. We went to De Ste for gelato, tried the rum and pistachio which was quite good. J commented that it's the best gelato he has ever tasted.

2 Oct Sat: Had my birthday lunch treat by Dad at Yoyogi with my parents and J. After our meal, we went to Paragon where J went for his root canal while I went to Green Sanctuary for mini facial and tummy compress. Head to his house after that.

3 Oct Sun: Had lunch at Al Dente Trattoria at Esplanade before catching "Nanta" with Yifen, Ray and Yifen's parents with J. Their usage of knives to create the rhythmic beats were very impressive. The show was quite entertaining but I was having a rather bad case of sniffles so felt quite awful. Took medication but still feel sick...will see if I need to visit the doctor tomorrow morning.

Bothered...

Was having lunch in the canteen when a P1 student's guardian came to look for me. She asked whether did I ever scold her granddaughter in class with remarks like "stupid and being transparent" which I never did. I find it ridiculous that the child told the grandmother that I did that. My whole class of students can be my witnesses. Next the office told me that the VP wants to see me. She wants to know my side of the story after hearing the complaint from the grandmother. The P was there too and they said that when I observed that the girl is weak in the subject, why didn't I contact the caregiver? I did contact the girl's mother before and I did asked the girl if her mother coach her in her work, but obviously, this is not enough.

I feel so wronged and it's my words against the girl and her grandmother. I told the VP that she can check with the other students in class as I don't even scold the girl when she fail to hand in her homework. During lessons, I asked the girl if I've ever scolded her and she shook her head and said no. I told her that because she told her grandmother I said those remarks, she went to complain and the P and VP misunderstands me. I wrote a note in her student diary to inform the grandmother that the girl already confirmed that I've never scolded her before. Felt so awful for the rest of the day...

Luckily at night, Teddy came to comfort me...we went to East Coast Food Centre for stingray, satay and teh tarik. He gave me the Chloe Perfume which he bought and assured me that it's not my fault that things turn out this way. I really feel so unlucky that this year I faced so many problems at work.

Celebrations

Yesterday, went to his relative's house to celebrate his maternal grandmother's 82nd birthday. Spent the whole day there, playing Monopoly Deal and seeing them play Mahjong...Jason's mum said that I have to pick up Mahjong as it's their family culture to play it during gatherings...Jason said I won't be able to learn as my Maths is so poor...-__-

Checked my mini "warehouse", the metal cabinet at my workstation for the Children's Day gifts...bought quite alot last year so I still have enough to last me till next year...haha...no need to buy anymore for this year. Will have enough stationery to give to my 3 classes. Stock-taking was fun cos it's been awhile and kinda forgot what I bought before. The cute stationery will hopefully be to their liking. At least this October, no need to splurge on gifts...this coming Sat will be having my birthday lunch treat with my parents and Jason. Will be having Japanese food...looking forward to it...yummy!

Season for 清汤

Lately I think I've become addicted to 清汤. It's not like my teh tarik cravings have gone into hiding but I think the 清汤 sold near to Teddy's place is "addictive". It's a Teochew dessert...Will go and get a few boxes for his family and mine after work later...

Last night after visiting Teddy and feeling better knowing that his ankle is getting better, had a long chat with his mum as she kindly offered to send me home. Happens that we are quite 投缘, can communicate quite well. I suppose at home, her boys don't really talk much with her. Something auntie mentioned that I totally agree: 结婚前,眼睛要睁大一点;结婚后,要闭一只眼。

Got to know from facebook that one of my sec sch netball friend got married last year and is expecting her baby girl to be delivered either today or tomorrow. Quite happy for her, seems like a lot of my friends who have gotten married are expecting their first borns this year. All the little tiggers...=) Left a message on her blog, think she'll only read it after her delivery.

Everytime after my morning lessons, I feel quite vexed and even dejected sometimes. Seems like I have to raise my voice at them before they quieten down for that few minutes. I can't seem to convince them to focus and do well for their own good. I just feel like hiding in the safety of Teddy's hug right now. Too bad my work doesn't allow me to just apply for half-day leave as and when I feel there's a need to...maybe now the time is not a need but emotionally I feel drained. I think I face "blood-suckers" every day. Luckily, my younger ones in the afternoon are mostly angels. Their cute innocent faces and cheerful laughters also give me much comfort.

Maybe I should also get married and then become pregnant, then I have a valid reason to apply for no-pay leave...haha...wistful thinking...(>.<)

New Meiji snacks

Went to Suntec Carrefour with Teddy on Saturday. Managed to find new meiji snacks. Always like to see what meiji has to offer from Japan as I find their packaging very cute and attractive and the snacks are quite interesting.

Bought the "Lucky Stick" that is cappuccino flavoured cream. The smell is very nice and the stick tastes good. Found another snack that you need to make on your own. It's called Taiyaki gummy. Have to add water then the ingredients in the packet. Will take a photo of the instructions tomorrow. =)

“夜来香”清汤

Had a relatively busy weekend, Sat morning went for 18 degrees meeting. Changed group from Creative group to Writing group. Went to visit Teddy as he is still in a little pain after the wisdom teeth extraction. He sent me to Plaza Singapura for piano then headed for his JC friend's wedding solemnization. After my piano lesson, met him and his friends at Marina Mandarin. We went to Suntec's Souperlicious for dinner as he is still on soft diet. It was a pity he couldn't join the wedding dinner. Went to fetch his parents after dinner as they got back from Malaysia.

Sunday, went for dim sum at Tak Po at Smith Street with parents, grandma and Teddy. His ankle was aching and had to apply the ointment I got him last time. We went to a warehouse sale with dorothy perkins, topshop and other apparels but most of the sizes don't fit. Quite disappointing. Went to buy “夜来香”清汤 near his place to comfort myself for missing the retail therapy. Tried the Tom Yum soup at Jalan Kayu...too spicy...next time cannot order.

Long dream

Last night, I dreamt that I went to Malaysia with my parents, sis and Teddy. Somehow, I was attending a seminar and after that, I left Teddy at a bookstore. My 5th Aunt went to fetch Teddy back. In reality, my 5th aunt can't drive.
After that, we went to an indoor theme park. The place was quite big and I couldn't locate Teddy. Then my parents called me on my handphone as they were separated from me as well. I remembered seeing my colleagues at the theme park too. I couldn't find my parents even after they gave me directions, in the end, had to get a staff to hear where they were and then I was woken up by the alarm. So weird...

The hunt of the sugarbunnies

Was skyping with sis and mentioned to her that Mcdonalds is having sugarbunnies for Happy meal toy...she said that she wants the white and brown bunny so have to look for her. At the outlet near my workplace, they only have the brown and pink bunny. I managed to collect the whole set for myself but was still lacking in the white bunny for sis.
Teddy came to pick me up after work as he went to the dentist before that. His wisdom teeth were causing discomfort, so he had to go for a dental visit. He will be operated on tomorrow. Hope he won't fall sick after that. Got a few friends who went for wisdom teeth removal last time and they had fever after the operation.
We went to Marina Square and managed to get tickets for "Love Cuts". Thought that the timing was quite unfair for the movie, for most cinemas, the timing was around 6+pm or 7pm. Most people working won't be able to catch that. We had dinner at Just Asia as after buying the movie tickets, we were given a 1 for 1 coupon at the restaurant. Checked Marina Square's Mcdonalds for the white sugarbunny, but it's sold out already. After the movie, we went to West Coast Park Mcdonalds, Lot 1 and Siglap Centre to look for the white sugarbunny. It was only after much searching, we found it at Siglap Centre. Finally, don't have to eat another Happy meal to get the toy.
A friend acted as a GP in "Love Cuts", quite surprise to see him acting in the movie. Thought that the movie wasn't as draggy as described in a movie review. Teared up at certain points of the movie. The voice-over for the supporting actress sounded a little weird. Think they did it in Taiwan. Quite a meaningful movie.

Kbox session

Met up with Jason's friends in Ang Mo Kio Central to go to Kbox for singing session. We went around 1pm and sang till 630pm. Been quite awhile since I last went to ktv so had a good time singing with them. Teddy sang a Chinese song that I've never heard before, 《求佛》, quite interesting...haha.
We went to Far East to eat Indonesian food and went window-shopping. After sending them home, Teddy sent me back. He was quite tired from all the driving around...

Catch up with JC gals

Met up with Jo and Chat at Clarke Quay Central with Jason for lunch at Sun with Moon. Got a pleasant surprise when I saw Jo pregnant...didn't know she was till I saw her. Chat is also pregnant but her baby is due next year. Coincidentally, Chat's hubby is called Jason too. =)

病了。。。

Sweet post by Teddy...

"As she slept peacefully beside me, i gaze upon her beautiful face. She looked so contented and happy. That image of peace, tranquility, beauty and bliss. It will forever be burned in my mind. I love her."

I didn't know he was watching me when I was napping beside him on Sunday...

点心

As my parents and sis went to Bali for holiday, Jason decided to treat grandma and myself to Dim Sum at Paramount on Sunday afternoon. Think she enjoyed the lunch. It was nice of him to give her a treat. =)

New Look

Last week, went out shopping with Yifen at Orchard, bought a shirt dress from ION Neu Look. Yifen got 2 coupons minus $5 with every $10 purchase of a regular item and she gave me 1. Decided to check out Somerset 313 outlet to see if they have new stocks. Didn't see anything that I wanted to buy so went to meet Jason at ION. We went to food opera for our dinner. The place is quite crowded and the food are normally pricier. Went to the ION Neu Look after going to the newly opened Daiso. Managed to get Oolong Tea from Daiso, didn't see it in the stores for quite some time.
At Neu Look, found this pair of wedges that look quite good. But for size 4, it's the last pair and there's a slight mark at the front of the shoes. Got the sales staff to help check stock at Somerset outlet and they have it. Didn't see this pair when I was walking around there. Hence, we took a train down to 313 to get the shoes. As every $25 spent, entitles 1 coupon, after scratching the card, I got the same discount again...haiz...looks like I got to make another trip down to the store soon to use the coupon.

他回应:“Dear, why are you saying this? O.O You are not a replacement for anyone. *hugs* You are beautiful in your own way and i love you for that. I will never use you as a replacement.”

"Aftershock" 《

Wanted to watch this movie for some time as the reviews were quite good, plus it's by 冯小刚, who is a famous director. Yifen caught it with her colleagues and told me it's a tear-jerker...so got tissue paper prepared before we went into the Vivocity cinema.

The show was very moving. Can't believe the number of people who died due to the earthquake...the numbers are just so huge...my favourite scene of the movie was when the girl was adopted and she spoke for the first time when the foster parents registered her at the new school and she corrected the person about her name. =)

He got me 2 Cecilia Ahern books which I have already...haha...but the handmade card was very nice. =)

We went to have Indonesian food at Lucky Plaza before heading to tcc at Centrepoint. He felt quite tired, so we headed home around 10pm.

The day my sports shoes gave way...

Went back to school for the Youth Olympic Games Cheer the Flame...P4, P5 students were back with the staff to line the road opposite our school to cheer our P6 boy who was the torch bearer and running along the roads...

The weather started getting gloomy when we were gathering in school and soon, rain came down...it was pouring when the YOG buses came by and the boy bearing the torch had to run in the rain. Poor thing...we were cheering him on in our white ponchos as he ran past us.

Headed to Punggol to meet Yifen and accompanied her to get her facial treatment consultation at Orchard. We went to Sushi Tei at Paragon for lunch and started shopping for her shoes. That's when I realised that my sports shoes started giving way. The soles were starting to peel off, so I had to start dragging my feet around to prevent the whole thing from coming off.

We went to a few shoe stores but couldn't find anything suitable. We went to neu look and I found a white long sleeve blouse (can fold up, with buttons) with a belt, looked quite nice so tried it on and it fitted quite well so decided to buy that. Yifen also got a black dress and 2 camisoles. When paying, realised that the price for my white blouse was further reduced by $10 so it only costs $19.90 instead of $59.90 (usual price).

In the end, we went to the cotton on outlet at Orchard mrt to find my sandals, bought a silver pair for $5 and threw away my spoiled sports shoes. We went to tcc at Wisma next and I tried the peachy sunrise drink. Thought it's quite sour, think will stick to fruity delight if I don't want coffee-based drink next time.

Will be catching the korean drama, Nanta with Yifen, Ray, Jason and Yifen's parents on 3 Oct...should be a good show. =)

"Salt"

Didn't think we'll catch this movie but since Jason's bro had free movie tickets so we went to Tiong Bahru for the free screening. The movie has quite a number of twists, there'll definitely be part 2.

While on our way back to his house after the movie, was on the expressway when I caught some fireworks as we went pass Marina area...quite stunning. Jason was driving so he didn't catch it.

We went to Expo for the Borders book sale before going for the movie. Bought 3 books at the fair, one of Amy Tan's, one of Marian Keyes and one of Jimmy Liao's...didn't know he had it in English.
Jason's foot is still depending on the “正骨水”。 Apply for him whenever needed. At least the swelling is gone...bai ka teddy...

"Inception"

Caught this movie last night with Jason at Marina Square. It's quite a complex movie but I find it rather interesting. I like the scene where the buildings and roads were inverted...wonder how they did the computer graphics, quite impressive...Stars Leonardo Dicaprio and Ken Watanabe.

Mandai Crematorium

Grandpa's funeral was held today. The monks came to say prayers last night. After another prayer, we sent him off. The cremation was done at Mandai Crematorium. It's my first time there. The air-con was very strong, making the room where we waited briefly quite cold. Was told not to cry but when the coffin was rolled in for cremation, couldn't control the tears...
By 3pm, we went back to the crematorium for the ash collection. Saw how the ashes were laid in the urn. As his family members, we were also told to place a piece of his bone into the urn and also a piece of the skull. The crushing of the bones to fit the ashes into the urn was a sickening sound.
No matter where my grandpa is now, I hope he is at peace.

Grandpa 1924-2010

Parents woke me & sis around 1+am saying that the hospital called, grandpa has fainted...we thought he'll be fine so we decided to stay at home.
The next morning, Mum woke us up, saying that Grandpa has passed away last night...it was a rude shock. I just visited him last night with Jason, he seemed alright and now he is gone.
Dad drove me to school where I applied for compassionate leave. We went to the town council to apply for the multi-purpose hall to hold the wake.
By 3+pm, the body came and as my Grandpa is a Buddhist, there were monks to pray.
This is so unreal.

Fireworks and sunrise

After meeting his 2 JC classmates for lunch at tcc, went for my piano lesson at PS. We headed for Sentosa Resorts World to catch the fireworks at Universal Studios. Had dinner at KT's Grill and since I wasn't that hungry, we shared a combo meal. The food was quite good. There were alot of people waiting for the fireworks. We went to the stores to look at the merchandise. Teddy got a laptop bag while I had a mechanical pencil that costs $9.90...super ex!

The fireworks was very nice, tried to take photos but thought a video would be better as there were music too. So only took 1 photo at the beginning and took a video after.

We decided to catch the sunrise at Changi Beach but due to cloudy conditions, couldn't really see the sunrise...what a pity...
