《冬季恋歌》

Caught the last episode of 《冬季恋歌》 with Mum late last night. Didn't watch the whole drama but Mum told me the summary of the story. Basically the nice sceneries featured in the drama was what made it a real success.

Gathering

Spent a nice evening catching up with some of my NIE classmates yesterday. Tried Yakiniku set in OA (Somerset, row of shophouse with lotsa eateries)...didn't know they cooked it with capsicum..had to put them aside cos don't really take to the strong taste.

We headed for TCC in Cineleisure next. Ordered Macademia Frappe...had a little almond-like taste. Got to try Hazelnut Frappe & Mighty Joe Young (will be a fave for banana lovers) too. Screen-saver mode apparent to Shuixian & Yifen as we took a leisurely stroll to Dhoby Ghaut station.

Grandma's birthday

No piano lesson today (Yamaha holiday) so could join family for lunch & headed to Funan IT Mall, MC2 to collect the NEC laptop Dad ordered from cousin. In the evening, went out for family dinner at a Teochew Restaurant in Amoy Street to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Ate quite a lot today...gd appetite =P

Dizzy

Felt slightly dizzy as I tried waking up early today for the long awaited gym trip. Figured it's the accumulation of insufficient sleep over the week. Decided to get more rest before spending a gd afternoon with Mum going to different malls in Orchard as planned earlier.

Waiting

Waiting eagerly just outside the glass door, craning necks & anxious eyes of numerous teenage gals...must be waiting for their idol/s arriving in Sg. Imagine catching a glimpse of their fave idol after the long wait...but like what sis pointed out, wouldn't the wait be in vain if special arrangements are made for a secret passage out of the airport?

Young toddler leaves her tiny finger prints on the glass panels as mummy tells her where to spot daddy. Daddy whips out his digicam & takes a shot to capture the wide smile on baby girl's face.

Eager to spot their loved ones, those in wait line the glass panels, blocking the view of those seated. Between the gaps, I scan the crowd for that familiar face. The moment I stood up, my eyes met the one we've been waiting for. Must admit, there's slight glee for being the one to spot him first. Thank goodness, baggage collection was brief & we were spared the pandemonium.

Deliberation

Had some problems logging into the globalkc site so decided to check the portal for upcoming semester's modules info...

Looking through the list of modules, especially the general electives; seems like I'm spoilt for choices yet sense of uncertainty lurks...will my lucky stars shine & allow me to select a GE where there's no clashes with other modules? Advice needed >_<

LOST

Caught the TV premiere of 《LOST》with Dad last night...captivating, suspense-filled drama. Reminds me of a GP essay I wrote sometime back about one's greatest fear: Fear of the unknown. Should be tuning in every Thursday 10pm unless something else crops up. Here's the weblink http://ch5.mediacorptv.com/lost5/ (courtesy of Mediacorp Channel 5) for those who wish to know more. (",)

Breathe Out

Dragged my lazy bones to gym early in the morn, attended Yoga Therapy for the first time...realised it's not my cup of tea: focus more on diaphragmatic breathing techniques (expelling carbon dioxide within one's body) which if one can't follow, might end up turning blue in the face...The trainer also mentioned some yoga terms which really sound strange to novices like me...(6_6') At least the workout at some of the machines made me feel that today's trip wasn't wasted.

Met Yunny for lunch at Marche, had a nice chat before window-shopping at Heeren & Far East. Glad that she has settled down since the last time we talked on the phone. Parted by 3pm cos I had to head down to MCYS to collect the volunteer identification card. The bus captain was driving at a relatively fast speed & I was unsure of the actual stop, so alighted 1 stop before the correct 1...more exercise for the day to compensate for previous slacking...=P

Dreamweaver

Caught the same NEL train coincidentally as Jo...i had to alight @ Serangoon station to wait for Shuixian while Jo was heading for work.

The female trainer for Dreamweaver MX was very patient & kept repeating certain procedures as she guided us through the course. The programme is quite interesting & has lotsa functionality...too bad it's only a beginners' course so there's only so much we can learn for 1 day. The shortcut functions & IT-idiot proof icons can make creating a site a dream come true but the lack of practice may be a nightmarish experience.

After lunch, restlessness crept in & at 1 point in time, Shuixian unintentionally made a "tsk" sound which was heard in the quiet lab. Both Shunting & myself had to suppress our laughter as we thought it's her expression of annoyance with the slow pace of lesson but she later clarified that she was actually eating a sweet.

Point to note: don't suck on sweets while attending a relatively quiet lesson. =P

Grading

Attended the 1st lesson with the new piano teacher this evening...impression: focus on minute details, high expectations. She mentioned something which repeatedly resonated in my mind..."It's not the grade that a person is learning; it's the grade the person is playing that matters." Looks like I've to work really hard to achieve her standards & pray hard that with the new semester I can still cope ('_')

W@H

Day 1 of experiencing the luxury of working at home...efficiency rate in observation stage. Data to be recorded in soft copy so alternating between the various screens a greater hassle than before...need to get used to it.

^_^ Save travelling time & cost; flexible hours; music...

*_* Greater chance of distractions; electricity cost...

(",) More to be discovered...gotta get back to work now
