Twilight

Finally after searching for quite awhile, managed to get the last book "eclipse" for the complete twilight series. Karel got me Book 1 and book 4 as Xmas gifts so I have to search for the other two over in bookstores here. Got "New Moon" from Borders using the gift card Amanda got me for xmas gift and "eclipse" from Kinokuniya.

Kinokuniya displayed the gold lettered "eclipse" near the entrance and that book costs $22+ but I found another copy with silver lettering near the centre of the bookstore costing $19+. Was wrapping the books when I realised that my copy of "eclipse" was published by another company instead of the other 3 which was by "Atom". Have started reading the first book which should be fast since I've caught the movie.

Surprise bday dinner

Contacted a few pri school friends to meet up for a surprise birthday dinner for Hui Hui. Made reservations at Marche and was there at Vivocity quite early. Felt quite tired walking around and waiting. Luckily Xinwei came around 6pm and Angel arrived around 7pm. We got her a cake from Breadtalk and took photos when Guangtong came around 9pm. It was fun remembering the silly things we did when we were in primary school and it was nice of Guangtong to give me a lift home.

Valentine's Day

Met up with Karel at Bugis to have lunch at nydc. Didn't have much of an appetite...not sure why...walked over to Sculpture Square for the flea market that Ryan was having. There was a live band from NTU which help to improve the atmosphere. Went to Esplanade after that as he wanted to get more recordings on his new Canon camcorder.

Had Haagen Daz Ice cream. Wanted to get lemon sorbet, mango sorbet and tiramisu with the waffle but the lemon was not available. Tried raspberry instead but that was super sweet. Went to Plaza Sg after that and we went back to Bugis for dinner at Wing Seong Fatty. There were alot of caucasian customers and it seems to be a popular eating place for them. The food was quite nice and we ate till we were very full.

Glad that he likes the watch I got for him and the rose was very nice. =)

Lihua Primary gathering

Supposed to go to Settlers' cafe for our gathering on sat, but we didn't make any reservations and there weren't any tables available. Angel, Genming, Hui hui, Dunlin and Xinwei made it to the gathering. We went to the Italian restaurant at the Riverwalk called Ricciotti instead. Tried the homemade pasta with prawns and mushroom. Tasted good.

We walked over to Clarke Quay for some coffee at Nectarine before going to the arena. The live band there is quite good but the service by the bartenders were quite annoying. They insists that you queue for the drinks and appeared very snotty. Got my friend quite pissed off.

Went to Genming's house after that and had a long chat. It was good catching up considering for Hui hui and Xinwei we've not met since we graduated in primary 6.

Marina Barrage

Met Karal for lunch at Shokudo first before taking a train to Marina Bay. There's a free shuttle bus to Marina Barrage and there was a crowd at the barrage. The musuem of the barrage shows the development of different water catchment areas in Singapore and even a simulation model of the actual barrage. The view from the barrage to the City area is indeed quite stunning. There were also groups of people having picnics and flying kites at the solar park. Bought a lanyard with water wally as a souvenir. Nice place to go to enjoy the scenery at no costs at all.

Most durable specs

Felt restless after work and tried calling Borders to check the twilight book "eclipse" but there wasn't anyone to answer the call. Headed down to Vivocity and went around Page One looking for the book but it's still out of stock. The rental bookstore will only have stock tomorrow, not sure when I'll be there again so didn't reserve a copy (need to pay the full amount first). Had dinner with Karel at Marche and tried this cous cous salad...like fried rice and it tasted good. Decided to pack some for lunch tomorrow. We were standing near the railings of the roof garden when we decided to go to level one to sit down. Karel was bending down and my elbow hit him and sent his specs flying down 3 storeys to level one. To our amazement, the specs didn't suffer a single crack. Really lucky cos this is his spare specs...will be quite blind without it...haha.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter

Just finished reading this book by Kim Edwards. Jiahui saw the book at PageOne the last time we met up but it was the only book left and was bent at the covers. Saw the book at MPH and since she has yet to buy, I helped her get it and could read it first. The story is quite nice.
