Xmas shopping

Went to Takashimaya to look for xmas gifts and they have started giving out the xmas bear wrapping paper. Managed to find an affordable roly bear for sis...it's really quite a cute but pricey soft toy. Found a new corner selling nice japanese biscuits and I couldn't resist so bought the wafer biscuits in a hello kitty tin box.

There were so many people doing their shopping and I decided to head home around 8+pm...will probably go to far east plaza to get the novels on thursday as I was lazy to walk over...=P

Breakfast, musical and KTV

Woke up early to bring Dad's japanese friend to eat Bak Kut Teh at Rangoon Rd...yes it's the famous shop with photos of celebrities and even Taiwanese president.

Went back home to catch up on sleep as I got a slight flu and didn't want to eat lunch as I was quite full. Woke up and went out to meet Karel and Ryan for the musical "The Promise" at NUS Cultural Centre. Thought that the singing was really good and after that Karel and I went to Clementi's Kbox to meet his group of friends. Catalin gave me the impression that he is pretty wacky and think they had a good time belting away songs after songs, mostly in English of course.

Departmental Lunch

Mrs Choo treated us to lunch at Bao Xi Chicken Rice Restaurant at Serangoon Gardens today. There was a huge spread of food and all of us ate till we were very full.

Headed to Far East Plaza to look for shoes and managed to find a pair going for only $9.90. Pass by MOS Burger and found out that they came out with the hp festive strap and the first figurine is similar to last year's so I got the female version. Think the hotdog is really cute, probably will try to get that the next time.

BBQ at Pasir Ris

After we got back to school, waited awhile for Rohana to come pick us up in school to head to Pasir Ris for our BBQ. It was drizzling slightly but the weather didn't dampen our mood, like what Hatta optimistically said: "It's just a passing cloud." =)

We reached Pit 2 and there was quite alot of puddles and muddy areas so we had to be extra careful. Mdm Hafsah helped to start the fire and soon we were happily bbqing our food. The satay and prawns were really tasty and the potato was also very nice. Caught a rainbow in the sky as the sun was setting...a really beautiful sight.

We celebrated Hatta's birthday which was yesterday and soon it was time to head home. Had a long but fruitful day!

Esplanade Tour and Singapore Flyer

Went back to school for the last meeting before we enjoy our holidays...there was an outstanding contribution award ceremony and it was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect to be nominated for anything.

Received 2 awards from Tapdance and also my P2 AR project. So the amount of $611.11 will be shared with the recipients...Soon it was time for us to set out for Esplanade and Singapore Flyer with our performing arts students.

We were given a tour of the Esplanade and given a pack of brochures and postcards. We left for Singapore Flyer around 230pm and soon we were queuing up to go on the Singapore Flyer. Most of the kids were fascinated by the Flyer and were exclaiming aloud...quite funny to see them so captivated.

After the ride, we still had some time to spare before the buses came to pick us up so we went to Popeye Chicken and Biscuit. Tried the mash potato as it was recommended by Celeste and it really tasted very good!

WITS presentation

Went to Nan Chiau Primary after non-core meeting in school in the morning. Presented our project with Celeste and luckily could manage the questions posted after our presentation. Waited awhile for the results and our team got Silver award while my colleague's team got Gold award. Quite happy with the results as we didn't really have time to rehearse the presentation.

Sentosa saturday

Jellyfishes

Huge crab

Sea angels

Leopard stingray
Seahorses
Dolphin touching the ball in the air
Didn't have meeting in the morning or piano lessons in the evening so decided to meet Karel to go to Sentosa. Had lunch at Marche first before heading to Sentosa.

Since he hasn't been to Underwater world before and it's been like 2 years since I last visited the place, we decided to go. There's a promotion for Singaporeans and PRs so we only paid $17+ for entry into Dolphin Lagoon and Underwater world. We went to Dolphin Lagoon first as there's a performance at 3:30pm. The pink dolphins were really smart and adorable. We took a shuttle to Underwater world. There were quite alot of people and over at the touch pool, I managed to touch the sting ray and a shark. The exhibits were quite similar but it's always nice to see the huge fishes in the tanks.

Karel needed to get a merlion soft toy for his mum and they didn't sell any over at the gift shop so we headed to the Merlion. It started to rain so we were running for shelter. After getting the soft toy, we headed back to Vivocity.

Went to The Chicken Rice Shop for lunch as there were long queues for most of the eateries and restaurants. Felt quite hungry and though we intended to catch a movie, but there weren't any nice shows screening. We went to Gloria Jean's Coffee place and got a drink.

Deep cleansing facial and neck massage

Went back to school and the PSLE results were released around noon time. Didn't remember during my days there were so many parents coming to school for the results. Kids nowadays are really pampered.

We were able to leave the school by 1+pm and I called Green Sanctuary to make an appointment this afternoon. Went to Paragon's outlet and was convinced to take the facial, eye and neck massage. Felt that the facial was good and relaxing but the neck massage wasn't as satisfying. Probably won't try it again.

Took a bus ride home and was craving for tu tu kueh but didn't managed to find at Toa Payoh interchange.

Echo of Life

Went to the Grassroots Club today for school's retreat and for check-in we were told to share about what we thought the echo of life means to us...agreed with one of our senior teachers as she mentioned that it's more fortunate for the person to be able to give than to receive 施比受更有福。

Reflected back to a documentary I caught a few weeks ago, as the courage and optimism shown by the lady left quite an impression. The young mother is battling cancer but she does not show any bitterness and when the reporter asked her when she thinks is the best time of her life, she simply answered, it's now...she's living life to the max and I really marvel how brave she is coping with her illness. I went to read her blog and found out that her story inspired quite alot of people. Do check it out and you will learn to be more appreciative: http://shinscancerblog.blogspot.com/

Retail therapy @ Bugis Village

Felt quite tired out with the hectic last 2 weeks in school and musical, was contemplating if I should go for a massage or facial at Green Sanctuary but didn't make the phonecall to book an appointment.

Decided to go to Bugis with Esther late afternoon instead to check out shoes and clothes. Didn't see any nice shoes but did managed to get quite a number of blouses. Initially, both of us weren't really in shopping mood but soon, the wide selection and numerous $10 signs around us made us delve into our wallets and the shopping frenzy started...

Soon, it was 10pm and the shops were closing for the day. We headed home tired but quite pleased with our finds...haha, though it's a little early but we've started buying clothes for new year...=P

Arts Alive- Hearts In Harmony!

Finally, after months of hard work and countless rehearsals, our school musical ended successfully at The Rock this evening.

Started doing the make-up for my choir from 11am, reached Suntec by 2pm. We waited patiently for the final rehearsal and everything went smoothly as planned. After doing some touch-up for the make-up, soon the show started promptly at 7pm. As I had to be at backstage with my choir, I missed most of the musical but the place wasn't really sound-proof so we could hear the audience cheering and clapping loudly for the performers.

The choir sang "Land of Joy" before the finale song and quite glad that they remembered the various movements and smiled throughout the song. Didn't go on stage when my name was mentioned as the co-director as I was standing near the video-camera to direct them to wave in unison during the finale song...trust me, this is a good way to train your arms and I'm sure after 1 month, you will wave goodbye to any flabby arms...haha...Reached home by 1030pm and the soles of my feet were aching quite badly cos was standing around since 11am all the way.

Madagascar 2 Escape to Africa

Managed to get 2 movie tickets under NIE Alumni promotion with Eng Wah Cinema and went to Suntec for the movie with sis. It's a Saturday morning show and a buffet breakfast was provided. As it's the beginning of the year-end holiday, there were alot of parents bringing their kids for the show. Imagine being in a theatre half-filled with children who will laugh at commercials...@_@

Went to the book fair at the convention centre after lunch and I started having flu...feel quite awful and decided to head home instead of going for piano. Took medication and rest early.

Hectic week

The past week was almost like a whirlwind...everyday was a flurry of activities and tasks urgently demanding my attention. When it's time to knock off on Friday and I've reached home, can feel my body and mind aching under the exhaustion.
Luckily saturday's meeting was cancelled and I just have to be out with sis besides attending my piano lesson. Decided to go to Orchard and had lunch at Sun with Moon...been quite a long while since I've visited the restaurant...miss the food and ambience. Besides walking around Wheelock, we went to Isetan supermarket and Takashimaya before walking down to Plaza Sg. Christmas decorations are already on display and there's a huge Xmas tree in Takashimaya with another smaller tree made up by teddy bears. The weather was quite hot and I couldn't resist getting a peach Yami yoghurt on the way.

After my lesson, we went to MOS burger for dinner and headed home after checking a few other shops in PS. Reached home with tired feet, really feel I'm getting old...used to be able to walk for longer distance without getting tired feet.

Stay home weekend

Will be spending this weekend at home to recover, hopefully the medication will help improve my condition, at least now my throat is not hurting as much. Hoping to complete a report over the weekend.
