Mandai Crematorium

Grandpa's funeral was held today. The monks came to say prayers last night. After another prayer, we sent him off. The cremation was done at Mandai Crematorium. It's my first time there. The air-con was very strong, making the room where we waited briefly quite cold. Was told not to cry but when the coffin was rolled in for cremation, couldn't control the tears...
By 3pm, we went back to the crematorium for the ash collection. Saw how the ashes were laid in the urn. As his family members, we were also told to place a piece of his bone into the urn and also a piece of the skull. The crushing of the bones to fit the ashes into the urn was a sickening sound.
No matter where my grandpa is now, I hope he is at peace.

I'm sure he is at peace and happy in heaven, dear. *hugs* Although he left us suddenly, we will always remember him.
