Mushrooms with tasty fillings
Met Yifen for breakfast at Compasspoint and headed to her house after getting ingredients for our cooking later. Took a bus to her flat and met Huiru on the bus.
We started with the portobello mushrooms and it's quite easy and fast to bake. Soon our mushrooms are ready to eat but we waited cos we were busy preparing our muffins. We decided to make chocolate chocolate muffins and the thick choco smell waft through the kitchen. We managed to bake about 17 muffins and it took about 50min. It was simple to prepare the mixture as I simply followed Yifen's instructions as she read from the recipe.
After putting our first batch of muffins into the oven, we started to taste the mushrooms. It was really nice with bits of cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. The onion and bacon also went well with the soft mushrooms. We only made 6 of these as the focus was on the muffins.
The muffins were full of chocolatey and nutty taste. The texture was just right and after eating 2 of it, I was full already. Think I'm on a choc high after eating them and with the smell constantly in the air. Quite a successful attempt since it's both our first try for this recipe.
Left Yifen's place around 4+pm and bumped into Beryl downstairs. Apparently, she lives very near to Yifen. So coincidental! Went for my piano lesson and met Timothy for dinner at Crystal Jade. Exchanged Xmas gifts early as well. Found out that there's a new Yami Yoghurt outlet at Plaza Singapura's basement 1...so happy, next time I can get my yoghurt if the cravings come along. It started raining so we headed home.
