School meeting
Went back to school for our meeting in the morning. Checked email last night and learnt that I will be changing my workstation to another side of the staff room. The place is right in front of one of our glass doors...gonna see students looking for teachers during recess...
Got my new timetable as well...will be teaching music next year in the morning and taking a p1 and p4 class for Chinese. Quite happy with the time I have to report to work...it's from 8:30am to 3pm. It's quite different from the usual floating timetable but I'm happy with it.
Felt quite tired by the time meeting ended, think cos didn't get enough sleep the night before. Headed home and after a tummy upset, took my nap till evening time.

Bangkok Day 4
We had breakfast while Dad woke up much earlier to join his friends for another golf game. We also went to the Keeriboon lounge for the complimentary drinks. The coffee served here was much better than the breakfast.
We checked out of the hotel by 12pm and waited for Dad's friends to pick us up to go to a friend's house. We were supposed to learn how to make chinese dumplings but the auntie got them all ready by the time we arrived. The dumplings were tasty as I'm not the type to like eating them in large quantities. We went to Dad's friend's company to have tea and chat before heading to the airport at 5pm. They just bought a new karaoke machine so sis and I got to sing a few songs before we left the place.
I watched "Igor" on the plane. The story was quite simple but the songs were nice. Reached Singapore by 10+pm.

Bangkok Day 3
Dad joined us today to go shopping at the nearby Carrefour. We had lunch at a small Japanese restaurant near our hotel. The food was good and it's not as expensive as in Singapore. We took a cab to MBK.
Intended to get Nintendo DS games but in the end it was too pricey. I got a t-shirt which I saw in Far East some time ago for less than half the price. We also went to get the snacks like the freeze-dried durain. We went to try the minced pork bee hoon near our hotel which Dad said is very nice. Headed back to our hotel to take a shower before meeting my dad's friends for dinner.
We had dinner at Fuji Japanese restaurant at the Emporium near our hotel. After dinner, we walked over to the NaRaYa shop and on our way, we spotted Mango store which was having a 70% sale. I got a black t-shirt and sis got a white t-shirt. Over at NaRaYa, we bought small pouches. I bought one with small floral prints for 65 baht. Thought that their products are quite pricey as they have an outlet at Vivocity back at home.

Bangkok Day 2
After an early breakfast, we took a cab to pray at the famous 四面佛。We headed back to the hotel and Dad went to play golf with his friends while Mum, sis & me headed to Platinum Mall to do our shopping. Sis bought quite a lot of things, like shorts, t-shirts, slippers, bag...I bought a blouse, t-shirts, slippers and a pair of shoes. Some of the shops have changed since the last time I was here with my colleagues.
We went back to the A&W for lunch. After lunch and walking around some more, Mum wanted to take a short rest so we had coffee at Black Canyon Coffee. The iced coffee was too sweet while the hot version was bitter so after drinking almost half a cup each, I mixed the 2 drinks together and it tasted ok.
We headed back to our hotel around 4+pm (Thai time) but most of the cabs don't want to go there as they claimed that there will be traffic jam, some asking for almost double of what we paid to get there. We also asked the tuk tuks but they also asked for alot and there was one driver who agreed to take us after we negotiated the price but later on he wanted us to help him pay for topping up his tank so we said no and we were in a rush for time. He dropped us off a distance later. We finally got on a cab driven by an old uncle and he took us back to the hotel. We were quite relieved that he agreed to take us cos my hp wasn't working except for emergency calls.
We met Dad's friends again for dinner at Ping Thai restaurant and had alot of good food. The sharks fin soup was fabulous and we ate till we were all very full...

Bangkok Day 1
Dad received a call from his Taiwanese business friends that they are in Bangkok and wish to play golf with him. Hence we checked out online if there are any flights available. In the end, most airlines that offer cheaper tickets need us to book at least 3 days in advance.
We booked our air tickets with Singapore Airlines in the end. We set off in the morning to Terminal 2 on Christmas day. I watched "10 promises to my dog", a Japanese movie during the flight...it's quite a touching movie. We went to Dad's friend's company once we arrive at the new airport in Bangkok.
We had dinner at Thon Krueng restaurant and got to try quite a number of Thai dishes. The Tom Yum soup was nice and after dinner, we checked into Four Wings Hotel.

Simply irresistible
Went to Tampines Mall with my parents & sis to return the Starhub SCV box as we are changing to new ones. Dad wanted to eat mee pok so we went to Lao Lim minced pork noodles. Wanted to finish reading my little black dress book "simply irresistible" so didn't take my usual nap...the story is quite raunchy...

Popeye at T3
Went for my piano lessons and took a cab to Changi Airport as the bus 36 will take 20min to arrive and I will probably end up being late. Met Karel for dinner at Popeye before walking around 3Top. Saw that they introduced Singapore Absolute Vodka in the transit mall. Looks interesting. We went to TCC to get some drinks and I tried the Zest de Oreo (foreground), orange with oreo freeze...quite nice, while Karel had a peach yoghurt (background). Took bus 27 home, the bus was very crowded, luckily I had a seat.

Canele
Met Yifen in Orchard to help her look for a dress for her friend's wedding. Went to Tangs and Wisma but can't find any suitable ones. Went to Canele for drinks and cake. We tried the chocolate cheesecake. I tried the organic dried lime tea. Quite strong taste, after drinking 1 cup, feels like I'm taking some medication...supposed to cure headaches and prevent colds...haha. Headed to Vivocity to meet Karel for dinner while Yifen went to volunteer for her church event. Went to PageOne and bought another novel. There was long queues for restaurants everywhere so in the end we went to Terra. Tried the rib-eye steak and the pepper mushroom sauce is quite nice.

Met Karel for dinner at MOS Burger at Shaw House then went to Isetan to look for his new shoes. Managed to get a Clark pair. Walked to Wheelock Place before going to McCafe for drinks. The minty latte is quite strong. Having a headache so took a cab from Newton MRT. Waited quite long for the cab and learnt from the driver that CTE has a major jam.

Keep Clear
The other day when I was on the train on the NEL, noticed a sign on the door at the station: "Keep Clear This door may open without warning."
This got me thinking, which door will open with warning? It's like we don't come across doors that will actually beep or say something like "I'm opening, I'm opening." right???

Twilight
Chijmes at night
Hot Fudge Brownie
National Geographic at Vivocity
Intended to go to the Singapore Zoo with Karel as he hasn't visited the place yet but the rain stopped us. We met at Vivocity to have Superdog first then headed to Cathay Cineleisure for "Twilight". The movie was ok, the vampires weren't scary...more humanistic as they portrayed the family as being the good vampires. The male lead Robert Pattinson eyes are so mesmerizing...Check out the movie's official website and listen to 3 songs from the soundtrack:

Went to Sushi Tei in Raffles City for dinner soon after getting the transformer Karel's dutch friend requested from Simply Toys. Headed to Chijmes for heineken and hot fudge brownie.

Exploring Sg
Met up with Esther at Raffles Place MRT to go to the China Square Flea market. Alot of the shops in the business district were not open. There weren't much to see at the flea market and think the people were more interested in the labrador that was eating Mcdonald's ice-cream cone.
Walked to the shophouses opposite and found a lot of interesting shops there (Club St, Eskine Road). There's a spa shop selling organic products as well and the lady was very nice, offering us a taste of the organic tea, orange spice. Almost bought the organic tea from her as there were a few interesting blends like ginger oolong and berry mix. There were 18 satchets in a box and each box costs $15. There's a promotion, buy 2 get 1 free. But I decided to look around first before getting it. They have a similar shop in Vivocity and the lady was pleasantly surprised that I can linked the 2 shops based on the decor...haha.
Went to this shop called anthropology and got the citronella essential oil as I think the smell resembles eucalyptus and lemongrass combined. I love the tiny yellow bag that comes with the purchase...super cute. Pass by Maxwell Food Centre but didn't eat anything there though it's known for its tasty local fare. Have never eaten there before...ok mountain tortoise...Took a bus from Tanjong Pagar and saw alot of bridal shops opposite the bus-stop. The area is famous for the bridal studios. Some of the gowns really looked very beautiful...
Esther gave me Godiva chocs 72% cocoa for Xmas as I gave her a bodyshop bodywash before. Thank you! They taste fabulous!

Cousin's wedding
Cheng Jun and me!
Met Karel in Cityhall as he needed to do some Xmas shopping. We had brunch at Cafe Cartel and then walked over to Suntec. Headed to Orchard area but didn't get much. I headed for my lesson at Plaza Singapura but of cos we had to get our Yami yoghurt first. He tried the green apple flavor but still find the peach tastier.
Took a train to Eunos to meet my parents as my sixth aunt's son is having a wedding dinner at Grand Mercure hotel poolside. My nephew, Cheng Jun was there too...carried him to take photos...super cute. He has the smallest mouth I've ever seen. It was a 8 course dinner and we were taking the lift to leave the hotel when we were suddenly trapped inside. Luckily the fan and lights were still working. They took 20min to free us. Cheng Jun was feeling sleepy so I suppose he didn't know what was going on. Fortunately, he didn't cry or it would have been very annoying.

JC gathering and Apad 62:08
Teriyaki Chicken and cheese paper pizza...
Rock melon juice, shitake mushroom and bacon with quail egg.
Xmas tree outside Raffles City
Ridz, Charm, me, Harold & Guolong
Went to Suntec with Mum and sis to do some shopping and we went to Crystal Jade for lunch. The dim sum is always very nice. Had Yami yoghurt again and saw that Mango was having a 50% sale. Managed to find the bag I like and got it for only$37! Sis didn't want the black color bag so she asked me to look for the brown or grey version in Orchard area.
Mum and sis left around 4+pm and I headed to Raffles City. Walked around for awhile but my feet was aching quite abit so went to Shokudo to wait for my JC pals. We were supposed to meet at 7pm so it's quite a long wait, luckily I brought my book along to read. Saw this eurasian kid who was happily eating rice alone. I thought Dad's friend's Japanese kid who is happy eating rice and tomato sauce was already quite simple but now I see another kid that only needs plain rice...amazing...
Guolong was the first to arrive, followed by Ridzal and Charm. Harold came later and we walked over to Singapore Art Museum as Rosman has an art exhibition there. Saw Sazali's work too and it was nice to catch up since our last prata gathering months ago. Went back to meet my JC pals at Dome and we chatted till 10+pm.

Change of Heart
Finished reading Jodi Picoult's "Change of Heart" today. I prefer this book to "Mercy" as I find it somehow more touching and the ending wasn't as predictable. At certain parts of the story, especially when June was thinking about her daughter Elizabeth, the way Picoult wrote it, it was really very moving.

Boysenberries
It's raining again today so we couldn't go to Botanical Gardens. Ended up in Raffles City and Suntec. Karel wanted to do some Xmas shopping but we could only find 1 item for his dad. There was a 20% discount for novels at Harris Bookstore so went to look for "The Time Traveller's Wife". Managed to get the book for less than $20. Went to Pepper Lunch for lunch and the beef pepper rice had so much pepper on the rice that I could hardly finish it without having some sniffles.
Walked over to Yami yoghurt stall and saw that they have a new flavour-boysenberries. The name is interesting and decided to try it. It tastes like a mix of raspberries and cranberries. Think Karel is hooked on the peach yoghurt. Haha...tried jack and jill salmon wasabi chips bought from NTUC...surprisingly, it tastes really good!

Muffinlicious!
Angels in Plaza Singapura
Our choco muffins!
Muffinlicious!
Met Yifen for breakfast at Compasspoint and headed to her house after getting ingredients for our cooking later. Took a bus to her flat and met Huiru on the bus.
We started with the portobello mushrooms and it's quite easy and fast to bake. Soon our mushrooms are ready to eat but we waited cos we were busy preparing our muffins. We decided to make chocolate chocolate muffins and the thick choco smell waft through the kitchen. We managed to bake about 17 muffins and it took about 50min. It was simple to prepare the mixture as I simply followed Yifen's instructions as she read from the recipe.
After putting our first batch of muffins into the oven, we started to taste the mushrooms. It was really nice with bits of cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. The onion and bacon also went well with the soft mushrooms. We only made 6 of these as the focus was on the muffins.
The muffins were full of chocolatey and nutty taste. The texture was just right and after eating 2 of it, I was full already. Think I'm on a choc high after eating them and with the smell constantly in the air. Quite a successful attempt since it's both our first try for this recipe.
Left Yifen's place around 4+pm and bumped into Beryl downstairs. Apparently, she lives very near to Yifen. So coincidental! Went for my piano lesson and met Timothy for dinner at Crystal Jade. Exchanged Xmas gifts early as well. Found out that there's a new Yami Yoghurt outlet at Plaza Singapura's basement 1...so happy, next time I can get my yoghurt if the cravings come along. It started raining so we headed home.

Long day out yesterday
Sharon, Amanda, Esther, me & Lu Yen
Lu Yen and me
Met Beryl at Somerset MRT to bring her to California as I can bring female friends for free workouts on Thursday...a promotion they started late last month. We went for bodybalance class after working on some machines. Parted our ways by 12+pm. I had lunch at Paragon Sushi Tei and as I wanted to make my way to Far East Plaza, it was pouring very heavily. Not much choice but to use my small umbrella to shelter me over. Soon my jeans was drenched near to knee area and when I was near to Tangs, a girl came near me to ask if we could share my small umbrella since we're going the same way. She looked really desperate for help so I didn't reject her, got my left side drenched in the process.
I managed to get the 2 books "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult and "Eat, Pray, Love" for only $23. Managed to check out "The time traveller's wife" for $20. Quite a thick book but I think I will wait till I've finished the other 2. Didn't managed to find any clothes or shoes at Far East this time round and after walking around Takashimaya for awhile, headed to Cineleisure to meet the gals for dinner at Shokudo.
After our dinner, we went to Kbox to begin our singing session. We left the place only by 115am...had a gd time singing after the last time months ago...=D

Jodi Picoult's novel
Borrowed "Mercy" from Amanda last week and since I was home yesterday managed to finish reading the book. Somehow because the trial was quite long in the story, the ending was somewhat predictable. Quite interested in her new book "Change of heart", will probably get it when I go to Far East Plaza next. Here's her official website: http://www.jodipicoult.com/
