Should I?

As my own Vaio is super duper slow...it takes like 20min to load a webpage...test my patience...haiz...so am thinking of trading it in but as it runs on celeron so the trade in price is quite pathetic...less than $200...really like the new pink vaio...think it looks really sweet...but after discount it's around $1800...thinking if I should buy...or should I get a cheaper acer or compaq...how how?

Happy Teachers' Day!

Watched the Teachers' Day concert twice as the Upper primary and lower primary lessons have to be present in the hall. Didn't want to teach so brought the p2s to the library and I borrowed some books to read during the holidays. Waited in school for the dinner as I didn't want to go home and come back to school again. The theme is Surfers' Paradise so can wear casual clothing and enjoy the barbeque food. The food was quite nice and get to take some photos with my colleagues and Mrs Teo!

Dinner

Met up with Ace for dinner as I've accidentally left my Precious Moments water bottle in his car the last time we met up. Went to Lei Garden as he haven't try before. Tried the soup, duck's tongue, beef, vegetables and fried ee mian plus mango pudding while he got the gui ling gao...really nice meal...=)

Weeeee...

“老师，我很急，来不及跟你讲......”
My P1 boy came up to me and as he was telling me that, he was wetting his pants at the same time...haiz...luckily there's cleaners around in the school, or else I will have to be Aunty Maria...The rest of the kids started to yeeee....so I had to keep them quiet by telling them if you continue to say that, you will have to help wipe the floor. Another boy was helping to hand in some worksheets and he was quite funny because as he pass by that area, he literally bend himself away while running. I told him you better stop running, later you slip and fall, your face will end up in the puddle. Haha...

Graduation photos

Went to Esplanade to take graduation photos before returning the gown and mortar cos rented it. No point buying as won't wear it again.

Ratatouille

Went to watch this disney animation with Jimmy at Cineleisure after my piano lesson. It's very funny and cute. Like the plot and the music. Really like the scene where Remy realise he is in Paris. Laptop woes

For the past week have been unable to go online when i'm home cos home laptop's motherboard has spoilt...it's only been about 2 years the most...so NEC isn't that fantastic afterall. Then I reformatted my laptop as it was so slow...somehow after reformatting the wireless network can be connected but server could not be found. Luckily my friend who lives nearby is able to help take a look at it and now it's ok already. whew...so inconvenient without internet...

Catching up

Met up with Dave to have dinner together. Arranged to meet at Clarke Quay mrt station. Went to Settlers' Cafe. Enjoyed the games called Da Vinci and Hey that's my fish! Walked over to Central and caught abit of fireworks from the shop windows. Went over to coffeeclub cafe and shared the muddy mud pie...it was so big that both of us couldn't finish it. There was coffee and chocolate icecream and oreo cookie at the bottom...totally sinful! Took SBS54 to bishan before catching a cab home, reached home around 1215am.

Rush Hour 3

Uncle got 2 free movie tickets for this show so he gave it to mum and we went to watch together at the Cathay. The movie was quite funny and entertaining. Reached home late though cos we took a bus back.

Primary school gathering

Met up with my primary school friends at Bishan's Cafe cartel. Gengming, Grace, Delong, Yonglim, Wanli, Gaozheng and Dunlin was there. Had a long dinner before heading to AMK's Mcdonalds (the one beside the park). Spent quite some time talking about the old days. Had quite a good time. Reached home pretty late...12plus am. Luckily Gengming was driving so he sent me home.

NTU Convocation 2007

Applied for UPA to attend the NTU convocation. Collected my certificate from NTU student admin centre. Saw some of my YEP trip friends and took photos after the ceremony. Prof Goh Eng Seng and Tan Kar Jun were there at the ceremony. Dr Vilma was there too. Didn't take photo with them though. Could take 2 free photos and went to buy the stage photo. Mum bought me a teddy bear with the graduation gown and mortar. It wears glasses too! =)

Racial Harmony Day and Open House

Return to school today for the racial harmony day and open house. Was there by 730am. Have to attend to the prefects...just walk around to make sure they are doing their duty. There was teh tarik and dragon beard candy. Lunch was packet food and didn't really have much of an appetite. Did Henna on my right hand. Costs $2. It was pouring but there was a huge crowd. Feel so sleepy and coffee also didn't help. Haha.

Getting traditional costume

Met Ace for dinner at Novena, Ichiban Boshi. The japanese satay was nice. Went to Square2 and bought a black floral skirt for $15 (on offer). Pass by Mustafa so decided to go check out if there's any traditional clothes I can buy. Managed to find a red top for $19.90.

Dinner and Drinks

Met Wenjun at Sun with Moon before heading to Clarke Quay for drinks. Changed quite abit since the last time I was there. There was a drinking place call Clinic with patient beds as chairs and blinds that is similar to those in hospitals. Quite cute. Maybe cos it's a Tuesday, there were not alot of people. Went to Irumour as it has Chinese songs. However, most of the songs are pretty old. Tried Whisky coke, vodka lime and tequila pop. Like Vodka lime the most. After 2 tequila pop, I was a little wasted. Didn't even notice when he went to the restroom. But felt better after drinking some water and cranberry juice. Reached home quite late, around 1230am.

Mediacorp show

Met Delong for the charity show at Mediacorp. The show starts at 7pm but we have to be there by 6pm. Didn't finish watching the show as we were pretty hungry. Went to AMK Hub's Mos Burger to eat as the food court is already closing. The theatre at Mediacorp was actually not as big as filmed on TV. Quite a nice experience though.

Lawry's Prime Ribs

Met Majush for dinner at Paragon. Went for a facial before meeting him at Green Sanctuary. The beef was nice but the spinning bowl salad was pretty ridiculous.

Pri sch gathering

Met a match.com caucasian friend in the morning before meeting up with Yonglim and Dunlin for lunch at Sun with Moon. Before meeting them checked out the toy store at Wheelock and found the uzabikin gashapon machine. Super lucky. Got the other 2 which I was missing and also another pinkrose one for sis. Went to TCC for coffee in Kinokuniya and met Angel there. Went for piano lesson after that.

Dinner at Sakura

Met Jiahui at Compasspoint for dinner at Sakura. Gave her the belated birthday present and glad that she likes it. Went for a haircut at Jean Yip before meeting her. Only $28.90 with hair wash. The food at Sakura was quite nice and we went to take photostickers before heading to Yakun for coffee.

Gym

Met Esther at AMK Hub to have lunch at the food court before heading to California Fitness in Somerset. Didn't make it in time for bodycombat. After the workout and showering, we went to Heeren and Far East. Managed to get orange blusher from basic beauty for $7. Quite nice, japanese brand going on offer. Intended to get a haircut but couldn't find a cheap saloon. Bought a set of Sanrio gashapon from toyquestz for $22.90. Went home feeling sleepy.

Pedicure

Met Esther to check out the shop in Icon at Bugis cos it's moving soon. Didn't find anything I like. Managed to get a pair of black color dangling earrings from diva for sis for only $2.50. Had pastamania for lunch before heading the Bencoolen Plaza for pedicure. Really like the color. Headed for piano lesson after that.

Die Hard 4.0

Caught the movie with Jimmy at the new AMK Hub Cathay cinema. The theatre was quite small. The movie was really good. Had to queue for sometime for dinner at Ichiban Sushi. Had a long queue for cab home.

First day of school

It's the first day of school and guess what...I caught the flu...finished my p4 lessons and decided to go to the doctor. Applied for early leave and headed to the polyclinic. Managed to get 2 days MC cos the cough medicine will make me drowsy. Haiz...so sian...first day of school fall sick...what is this...

Jalan Kayu prata

Met Josh for breakfast. He drove us to Jalan Kayu...we ate at the one with a carpark beside it. Had quite a good time catching up. Stayed at home for the whole day.

KTV

Met Yaokun for lunch at Sun with Moon. Walked over to Far East Plaza as he wanted to get some tops...managed to buy a long-sleeved shirt and also a tshirt. Was quite funny cos the salesman thought he was my husband...then I "Huh?" and then he said "boyfriend"...I huh? again and then he said "brother". Again I "huh?" and finally he got it correct by saying friend..nearly fainted..haha husband...so rubbish. Bought a pair of black jeans from Candle for $30+. Took a bus to Plaza Singapura and since it was still early, we went for coffee at Toast Box. Had dinner at the food court before walking to Paradiz Centre KBox. Had quite a good time singing cos only 2 of us so can take turns but i think i sang more songs. Reached home quite late close to 11pm.

Internet Broadcasting

Went to Nan Chiau Primary for students' course on Internet broadcasting. Was supposed to be with them the previous two days as well but blur me thought the course is in July...luckily I checked my edumail and found out in time.

Met my friends in the office and will be going to get lunch together. Will head to the gym later with Esther again =)

Catching up

Met up with one of my NIE friend and we went to NYDC at Wheelock. Saw this caucasian guy sitting beside our table and was really surprised that my friend dare to approach him for his number...haha.

However, she forgot to save the number and in the end it's as good as nothing. Had an early dinner after getting hot tea at Starbucks. Managed to get a Anna sui lookalike mirror from Far East at discounted price of $10.30, silver color.

Reached home quite early and had a long chat on the phone with one of the guys I've recently contacted on match.com. Have arranged to meet on Sat. =)

Bodycombat

Met Alvin in the morning and had Mcdonald's breakfast. Arranged to meet Esther at the somerset gym to go for a workout. Attended the Bodycombat class. Been quite awhile since the last time i went to the gym. It was a great cardio workout. Was on the treadmill for awhile before we showered and went to walk around Orchard. Got a blue t-shirt for $6 at Cineleisure. Walked down to Wheelock to have Sun with Moon. Ordered Yakiniku kamameshi and warabimochi. Went to Far East Plaza next to find my white tube top for the peach dress I bought earlier on. Managed to find one for $5. Met Jinsen for dinner at Sushidon. Walked down to Esplanade and enjoy the night breeze by the Singapore River. Had quite a good time. =)

Nice accent

Went to Bugis today to check out the shops. Bought a small pentel pen that is in the shape of an orange crayon...super cute. Saw Mark Zee at the Voodoo doll store (photo above). He was asking if I needed help. Like his accent, the way he speaks english is very pleasant-sounding. Didn't buy any in the end cos even after discount it costs $12.50. Met Alvin and walked to Midlink Plaza for mixed fruit ice. Decided to go to Suntec and along the way had Tom Yam Seafood soup at Ah Loy Thai in Shaw Towers. Turned two capsules with mini Sylvanian figurine for $2 each. Reached home quite tired and took a short nap.

Catching up

Been some time since I last saw Peishi (amk) so decided to arrange for a meet up with Yunny. We met in Tampines as Yunny had to go for a short meeting and Peishi had to fly in the evening. Went to Sakae Sushi for lunch and had coffee at Ya Kun. We went to take photo-stickers. It's been so long since the last time i took such stuff...feel like sec sch again..haha. Bought 2 dresses from Century Square for $50. Hope to catch up with sec sch people in december for a gathering.

China Trip with school

Managed to get this camera with a case for $357. Much cheaper than the IT show which has the similar one for $399 without case.

Shrek 3

Met Delong at Harbourfront MRT for Shrek 3. He managed to get free tickets from his sis but we had to sit in the first row. The movie wasn't as lousy as some claimed...quite funny. I like the part where Gingy was frightened and pooped a small pink gummy sweet. So funny...

Went to IT show at Suntec to help Dad get a 2 GB thumbdrive. Bought a Toshiba for $28.90. A really good deal. Will look for digital camera tomorrow in Sim Lim Square as the selection isn't alot there.

Karaoke

Went back to school for work planning with colleagues. After we're done, we left for Serangoon Gardens for lunch at Sushi Tei. Went to K Garden for a session of singing and had a fun time with Waiyin, Tiong Bee, Yan Han, Melissa and Jeremy. Didn't know Yan Han could sound alot like Andy Lau, while Tiong Bee could sound like Zhang Yu...simply amazing. Sang all the way from 2+pm till 6pm. Met Yahti at AMK for dinner and catching up. Supposed to meet at 630pm but Jiahui was held back by work. She arrived only by 8+pm. Felt quite sick by the time i got home so took panadol cold and went to sleep.

Nintendogs

Sis got her nintendo ds yesterday...she bought the white one and there are 23 games inside. She had a nintendog...and decided to let me have one too...mine is the golden retriever. Quite a smart dog...learnt 3 tricks already. Quite interesting. =)

Disappointment

Tried the new Aji-tei in Plaza Singapura yesterday...there were quite alot of people but managed to get a table. Ordered the small salmon don ($3.80) and tried the claypot clams...ordered the curry fried cuttlefish but the order was really slow...almost wanted to cancel the order but they have already prepared. The dessert warabimochi didn't have any honey sauce unlike sun with moon so it was quite bland..it also costs more 4 pieces for $5.80. Won't visit that place again...quite disappointed with the service...asked for a spoon and the waiter didn't even understand me...totally ignored my request...haiz...

Results

Saw cane marks on one of my p2 boy's arms and leg yesterday...he didn't pass his English and Maths SA1...no wonder his mother caned him...quite poor thing...although sometimes he doesn't pay attention in class...but felt quite bad for him...must have been very painful. Surprisingly, my p2s had 100% passes while my p4 is only 75%. Sigh...how to help the p4s? Anyone can tell me?

2nd meeting

Met up with Don for dinner as parents are out and home's not cooking. Went to Wheelock's Sun with Moon and I tried the Chirashi Don. Quite nice. Tried milk tea ice-cream after dinner at the stall outside NYDC. He sent me home soon after as there's no where I wanted to go.

Central Sun with Moon

After school, went to Central's Sun with Moon with my colleagues: Beryl, Waiyin, Karn Nee and Waiyin's twin sis, Waihan. The interior is much smaller than the Wheelock outlet but there's an outdoor dining. Ate the Yakiniku Kamameshi while my friends ordered Salmon and Oyster kamameshi. Of course didn't forget to order Warabimochi...my favourite. Went to the Japanese store to get Mothers' Day gift. Bought a white chocolate biscuit. Went to meet Don who contacted me from Expat Singapore. Had tea before he sent me home.

Helped Sis buy the dark pink japanese blusher for $7 at basic beauty. Bought a mcdull hp accessory. The ladybug one. Nearly bought a dress from Toss for $25 but in the end decided against it. Met Celina briefly too.

Central

Went to Clarke Quay to check out the new shopping centre called Central. It has a logo that is similar to an arts school. Some of the shops are not opened yet and there wasn't alot of people. There is also a LevelOne similar to Bugis but there are more shops here. Saw the Sun with Moon outlet but couldn't find any ATM so couldn't eat there. There was a stall selling donuts and the mini ones were quite nice, tried the maple and original ones. 12 for $4. Headed down to Wheelock to find the Max Lucado's You Are Special book which the lecturer recommended but couldn't find it. Checked out at Kinokuniya and even Times but it is out of stock. Quite expensive also, Times selling it for $25.20. Try to get from Principal cos the lecturer mentioned that she will get 10 copies for the school.

Had Eel and clam kamameshi and also warabimochi at the Wheelock Sun with Moon. Couldn't resist the dessert. The sweet box didn't offer warabimochi so didn't order that.

Bought a new piano book Sonata 2 cos finished playing the Kevin Kern book.

Sharing session

Went to Hougang Primary with Kang Lee for a P1,P2 new curriculum sharing session at Hougang Primary school. Saw a few teachers at the sharing session and got the chance to see a p1 lesson.

Finished the sharing session by 6+pm and headed home directly. Met Yifen and Huili at the session too.

Getting the hang of things

Realised that if I reach school earlier, just slightly earlier each day, I can actually complete alot of things...

For instance, I've already completed next week's weekly plan (quite ahead of time) and I'm now planning revision materials for my p2s...as I've already finished the textbook stuff with them and just completed the activity book with them today.

For P1s...think they need more time to digest what they are learning so giving them slighlty more time. My P4s are still as noisy as before. Tried to get them to write composition today but they are still making noise as they are writing...don't understand them...sometimes, I wonder if they are humans at all ( i know this sounds mean, but I can't help but wonder, especially when they thrive on getting scoldings from their teachers all the time)...another student actually dared to complete his Mathematics homework right smack during my chinese lesson yesterday...confiscated his book and told his Maths teacher about the matter. He's gonna get it from her too...serve him right...how dare he do such a thing during my lesson!

Flu bug attack...yet again

Down with flu again...think never really recovered from the first one that's why...feel quite terrible but dragged myself to school as there's reflection before lessons.

In the end, after a few colleagues' advice, decided to leave school to see the doctor upon getting the principal's approval. Heard that today alot of teachers are on sick leave...up to 10 in fact.

Think the weather is really lousy, causing alot of people to fall ill. Took medicine and went to sleep. Feel so drowsy.

Never order noodles again

Tried prawn noodles from the canteen today and soon when I was having my p2 lessons, my stomach started feeling pain...it's like the churning sort where you won't feel like going to the restroom.

It was horrible and I had already arranged to meet up with Jiahui. We managed to get a table at Sun with Moon...and I tried the Sukiyaki...the soup was very sweet but the serving a bit too much. Ordered the warabimochi too...really love it...

Shared a cab home and it was only when the ointment and medicine was taken that I felt much better.

Mental note: NEVER to order from that stall again...even if it means I have to starve! I'd rather die from hunger than suffer the painful torture of a stomachache!

Sick again

Went to the Hougang Polyclinic to see a doctor cos woke up to flu symptoms and also sore eye. Waited for quite some time before I saw the doctor and got my medicine. Went home for lunch and then took a long nap. Took MC to rest at home.

New hairstyle

Getting sick of my hairstyle so decided to go for a haircut after school today...went to Jean Yip as they offered the cheapest out of all the salons I've checked in Compasspoint.

The guy was quite fast and in the end, the result was quite good. He even washed my hair but didn't charge it. Went out with Fu Rong and his friends for a late night movie at Marina Square. Caught "The Reaping"...it wasn't nice at all...the sound effects were deafening. Went for a drink at Mr Bean before heading to Jalan Kayu for prata. Intended to catch the sunrise but his dad needed to use the car so had to head back.

Sushi Tei

Had to reach school by 710am as they are conducting the NAPFA test at Hougang Stadium today. On duty as the starter and need to take note of the students' time as they finish their 1.6km run.

"Baked" under the sun for almost 2 hours. Despite having applied sunblock think, still gonna get 2 colors. Had CCA till 615pm then met up with brother Josh for dinner.

Went to Serangoon Gardens for sushi at Sushi Tei. Noticed that the chefs didn't really put effort in making sure that the sushis on the conveyor belt looks presentable and appetising. Most of the sushis weren't even cut evenly...quite sad to see such lousy standards offered at a restaurant.

环岛追追追

Arranged to meet Furong at Funan IT mall...managed to get the printer ink and have lunch at the food court before heading off to our next stop.

He drove his family car which was quite a small car but extremely cute. We headed off for Sim Lim next as I wanted to find OCR programme. Managed to get one and also find a brown leather pouch for sis' ipod nano for $20.

Headed to Vivocity for movie next. Managed to get tickets for 《Music and Lyrics》 starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. Quite a nice movie with catchy melodies and songs...really touched by the song Hugh sang for Drew "Don't write me off". The lyrics were simple yet told their story as a couple together. Tried Japanese grill at Shin Kushiya restaurant. The food was quite nice with good ambience. Decided to check out Sentosa by driving through the island...quite a fresh experience for both of us...surprisingly, we found a small driveway that gave us a different view of the water fountain show. Besides having the laser show with the water fountain, they've added fireworks to the show, making it quite spectacular...However, I prefer the water fountain show before they added the laser show...think it's how the water moves with the music that was mesmerising, instead having characters and some story going on with the laser.

Had Teh tarik craving and went to a indian muslim store. However, somehow the drink made both of us have queasy stomach. Think it's not hygienic...hope the uneasiness goes off soon.

Had quite a pleasant sunday...looking forward to the next trip out (prob to IKEA Tampines).

Printer ink mystery

Somehow, just when we needed to change our printer ink, the extra packet we bought have miraculously vanished into thin air...

Remembered that I placed them in the cupboard but after searching through it, still can't find them...

Quite frustrating especially when both sis and me need to print our work...

Books galore

Went to Bras Brasah with Mum and sis cos sis needed to get Redspot's 10-year series. Managed to find some chinese children storybooks for my kids. Hopefully can claim through the fund provided by MOE.

Found a shop that makes textured paper. Can design and get them to custom-make stuff too. Like journals and invitational cards. Walked down to Suntec next. There was a Bodyshop sale where Mum got most of the stuff. Only got a cosmetic bag that's khaki color ($9.90).

Went for Piano lesson and got 3 pieces of textured paper from the scrapbooking shop. Took bus 36 to the airport to fetch Dad before heading home. Real tired by the time we reached home around 11pm.

Bus breakdown

Thought could reach home earlier as I caught the bus once I've reached the bus stop but the bus (service 88) broke down near to Punggol Primary stop. The bus driver couldn't get the ezlink machine to work and most of us couldn't tap our cards as we alighted the bus to wait for the next to arrive. A colleague decided to walk home instead of waiting.

Upon boarding the next bus, we were told not to tap our cards but when I alighted at my stop, error message occurred. Have to make a trip to the top-up counter to get the refund. So troublesome >_<

Almost losing voice

Sore throat is one of the worst nightmare of all teachers...almost lost my voice after my lessons and had to visit the doc after school today (after 7pm). Long queue waiting and i haven't even had dinner (waited till 850pm for my turn, was the second last patient before the clinic closed)...Didn't get an MC as there's lots of things to be done in school...hope my voice returns to normal soon.

So soon

1 week is almost over just like that...March holidays are over sooner then i expected but at least i got to rest and relax.

• Monday: spent time with Mom & sis, getting stationery from Concourse for my students (in advance) Buying in bulk is cheapest there.
• Tuesday: Tapdance make-up practice (whole day in sch)
• Wednesday: dinner with colleagues at Poh Sing Chicken Rice restaurant
• Thursday: P1/P2 sharing session at Holy Innocents' Primary with Celest and Zhiyong. Met Huili, Huiru, Mengmeng and 3 other NCPS teachers there.
• Friday: Shopping and catching up with Yunny and met Jiahui for dinner. Been a long while since my last "shopping marathon"...

Lobster

Half a day at Hougang Stadium gave me a brand new look: "lobster" *_* Feel so "toasted"...
Efforts put in with the cheer-leading team were rewarded with the trophy. =) Blue Hawks go!
Yellow Eagles clinged the overall house champion. Green Osprey (2nd), Blue Hawks (3rd) and Red Falcons (4th).

CA1

Just finished marking my students' CA1...p1, p2s results are quite ok, with a student getting full marks for p1, and p2. My p4 results are more worrying...the lowest got 10/50...wondering how i can help them...*_*

P/VP observation

Had my first observation in the school by the VP today. P was supposed to observe but was held up by a last minute meeting. The VP came by and asked if I wish to wait for another day or have her to observe. Of course, I didn't want to waste the effort I've put in preparing. However, I'm already in the midst of the lesson.

Luckily, the pc worked (first time using with the class, heard from other teachers that the pcs here can be quite cranky) and students were relatively well-behaved. The boy who has behavioral problems was actually able to stay in his place and not walk around...whew. However, the VP still felt that the kids could be more disciplined. Some of the boys started rocking their chairs and were scolded by the VP. Need to have more groupwork for the next observation though.

Felt so tired after yesterday's NE trail rehearsal and today's observation. Need to give myself a break before planning for next week's lessons.
