"Attention all passengers
For the first time, Yifen & myself was with the morning rush hour crowd & was slightly delayed. The next train that arrived at Bukit Gombak was fully packed & we could only wait for the following one. As we entered the train, I became literally the sandwiched "cheese" (wearing this colour). A minor jam along the Jalan Bahar stretch didn't help me to be punctual for the Publisher class. Samantha registered for the same class, noticed that she's quite fast in learning; her proficiency in IT must have helped. The trainer's quite friendly, adopting the relax style. More hands-on practices were carried out, quite useful program with lotsa ready templates for quick designs. Class ended by 3pm so could join Yifen for more data coding before we knocked off at 5pm. Went to Jurong Point with Yifen to purchase some camp stuff & borrow some children chinese books.
29:05
10:45 Sisters spotted window-shopping at Plaza Sg several clothing & gift outlets, checking out new items, observing the Sunday crowd, deftly avoiding Bodyshop Sale sign thereby resisting temptations to enter into the "start buying mode"
12:00 Decided to "fuel up" at Ichiban Boshi & enjoy some chatting before the real fun begins
13:25 Walked down to Takashimaya, observing the Great Singapore Sale customer draws along the way. *embaressing moment: saw a guy's retractable clip fell frm his pocket, bent down to pick up but huge bag bumped into another guy who was too close on my left...had to apologise & quicken my pace to tap 1st guy to return his clip cos he had his headphones on. Noted 2 men trying to capture orchard road images using highly sophisticated digital camera perched on tripods, Ying analyze might be for a nearby Canon digicam promotion booth
13:40 Sheltered from downpour in the comfort of Ngee Ann City & library...fascinated by showcase of photojournals by youths on projects overseas (YEP), creative approach of letting public to rearrange different photoshots on the main storyboard. Kinokuniya's stationary section & Sanrio's corner in Taka was not to be missed.
15:00 Ying game to walk all the way to Cityhall & the sight-seeing begins ^_^
16:10 Reached SAM, decided to check out the galleries...didn't regret the visit cos the "Blink!" exhibition showcased very creative & interesting art pieces...had lotsa fun taking shots using Ying's hp.
17:30 Met Mum at Cityhall control station, headed for dinner @ Suntec's 品味小吃
18:45 Enjoyed the night scenery at Fountain of Wealth while Mum & sis savor Swenson's yam ice-cream (resisted the temptation)

A Beautiful World
This poignant quote caught my attention as I watched "A Beautiful Mind". It sums up the uncertainties everyone face everyday and Alicia's belief in John is the simple faith that help give both of them strength to overcome the struggles they face.
The preoccupation in pursuing one's dreams may make one neglect what's important in life...ok this may sound pretty contradictory cos some may argue that their dream is the most important thing in their life...BUT...During the pursuit, do you realize that you may be neglecting the simple things in life? Sacrificing the time to revel in nature's glory, failing to notice the people who really matter, etc...
I suppose at any one point in time everyone has a goal or dream to fulfill that motivates himself or herself to find meaning in life...Just wish to share that one should try to strike a balance, to not become too focus in the pursuit and forget to enjoy the process with things or people who really matter.

Reunion
Called my Sup in NIE and collected my practicum "treasure". Finally reunited with the owner. Feedback were brief...given that he's busy with research and meetings:
More confidence needed to try out new methods as beginning teacher and to be mentally prepared to overcome situational probs in schs individually...sharing sessions and observing how the experienced teachers work will benefit but there's only so much people can instruct, the rest is up to me. Motivation and passion for learning is the essence of it. *nods*
Realised that weather mirrors mood somehow...kinda miss gym class.

Back to "Headquaters"
Quite impressed by my YEP thai trip pals whose graduating artworks were displayed in the art gallery...very interesting themes and lotsa artpiece were showcased this time round.
Found out that Beng is the Art director of 29:05...lotsa hardwork went into the exhibition but think it's worth all their effort. Plan to make another trip to check out some artworks which we missed out today.
Starting my "engine" proper to not let this hols go to waste...scheduling events to keep myself occupied =)

Gone...jap restaurant
Wonder if the original restaurant has moved somewhere else...was checking the restaurant's add and realised that it's similar to the Crown Prince Hotel's jap restaurant!
Had the chance to savor the authentic jap food at the Crown Prince Hotel's jap restaurant a few weeks ago. Really had a very fulfilling dinner cos every dish was so delicious! It was mentioned that our Singapore's president, SR Nathan uses the same room when he visits the restaurant!

Guest instructor
Attended the following Bodycombat class with Celina, where there was a guest instructor, Michelle Dean. She's really toned and can see that her punches are packed with power.
Had lunch and checked out some stores at Far East before heading back around 3+pm.

Pouring
Tried Cardio kick...gosh...no joke...was soon perspiring like the relentless rain that ensued in the afternoon...met Jo briefly at Taka's Venezia but she gotta work so I headed to Far East alone...the capsule shop which we visited before wasn't open...=(...after a simple lunch and a little window-shopping, took a long bus ride back home...along the way saw quite a few roads getting pretty flooded.
Caught the evening news which reported our ex-president, Mr Wee Kim Wee's funeral...indeed, our people's president's demise gave all a chance to learn of how he had touched people from all walks of life...tears flow freely as he left us, yet he'll be fondly remembered.
